LA fires double tragedy after amputee dad tried to wait for ambulance for disabled son: Latest victims named

Anthony Mitchell, a 67-year-old amputee, and his son Justin, who had cerebral palsy, tragically died in the Los Angeles wildfires. Anthony stayed behind to protect his son, refusing to leave him. Their bodies were found in Altadena after they failed to escape. The fires have killed at least 10 people,

with the toll expected to rise. Among the victims was 66-year-old Victor Shaw, who died trying to save his family home, and 82-year-old Rodney Nickerson, who stayed behind, believing the fire would pass. Over 34,000 acres have been destroyed, making this the most devastating wildfire in LA’s history.
