On Saturday, the US Army released the name of the pilot involved in a deadly crash on Wednesday between a Blackhawk helicopter and a passenger jet at Reagan National Airport. The pilot was 28-year-old Capt. Rebecca Lobach from Durham, NC. The collision killed all 64 people aboard the jet and all three crew members in the Blackhawk, including Lobach, Staff Sgt. Ryan Austin O’Hara, and Chief Warrant Officer 2 Andrew Loyd Eaves,
Lobach, with over 450 flying hours, had recently served as a military social aide at the White House. The Army withheld her name for three days at the family’s request, while her social media was scrubbed before being released.
