ICE Arrests Over 2,500 Illegal Immigrants in President Trump’s First Week

In the first week after President Donald Trump’s inauguration, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), led by Border Czar Tom Homan, arrested over 2,500 individuals living illegally in the U.S. These nationwide raids targeted individuals with criminal convictions, especially those seen as public safety threats. ICE conducted operations in various cities,

including sanctuary cities like Chicago and Los Angeles. In addition to primary targets, ICE detained other illegal immigrants encountered during the operations. The agency worked with other federal agencies, such as the DEA, which arrested individuals connected to a Venezuelan gang in Colorado. The U.S. military, including the Marine Corps and Coast Guard, also assisted in preventing illegal border crossings. Public figures like Dr. Phil McGraw joined ICE in Chicago to highlight challenges posed by sanctuary cities. These actions align with Trump’s policy to intensify immigration enforcement and enhance national security.
