On January 21, San Diego County battled three fires in Lilac, Pala, and Friars. The Lilac Fire, which began at 1:19 a.m. near Bonsall, spread across 85 acres and led to evacuations. By evening,

the fire was 50% contained. Aerial resources and careful wind monitoring helped control the flames, and while evacuations were lifted, some roads remained closed. The San Diego Sheriff’s Department advised caution due to ongoing firefighting efforts, though there was no public threat.
